"B" is for Bunk Beds #3

Built: doll bunk beds

Painted in orange, again, with fresh fiesta inspired quilts:

This set of bunk beds will be going to my kids' school auction, Fiesta is the theme so I made the bunk bed to coordinate!

It fits American Girl or any 18" dolls, just climb the ladder McKenna:

Here's how I made the bunk beds:

1. Using Ana White's plans here, cut boards and construct:

2. Prime, paint two coats Glidden sunbaked orange.
Distress edges then seal clear satin poly:

 3. Cut 3" squares and stitch together.
Make quilt sandwich: backing, batting, top and pin together:

4. Quilt on the diagonal every other row:

5. Add binding, wash and dry.
Make pillows and pillowcases to match:

6. The mattresses are foam mattress topper cut to size wrapped with quilt batting.
Then cover - envelope pillow style - with white fabric:

Put it altogether and you have the cutest doll bunk beds:

And just for comparison here's the 'fiesta' bunk beds next to the original orange:
