"C" is for Chalet

Handpainted CHALET sign for the front door:

Some winter door decor that's not a wreath:

Our house is the farthest thing from a chalet but we can pretend for a few weeks!

I was inspired by this picture from Pinterest:

I added the sign and used burlap in place of ribbon.

Here's how I made the door decor:

1. Cut wood scrap, paint off white.
Print letters to fit wood piece:

2. Place letters on wood, trace with ballpoint pen which leaves an indent in wood:

3. Paint inside the indent:

4. Add border:

5. Sand to distress:

6. Use green paint to highlight letters:

7. Stain with Minwax Early American.
Seal with satin poly.

8. Attach pinecones to burlap strips with wire.
Secure with white bias cut strips:

Welcome to our chalet!

Ready for winter.
