"N" is for Nursery

Paint: nursery sign

The perfect decorative addition for a new baby girl.

A friend requested this sign for another friend as a new baby gift:

She saw the sign below in a gift shop and asked if I could recreate it:

I used Janda Quirkygirl font in 110 and 80 point:

Then added white grosgrain ribbon to hang the sign:

Here's how I made the nursery sign:

1. Cut 3/4" plywood 9" x 6 1/2".
Prime and paint two coats pink:

2. Use a cup and trace circles with white pencil:

3. Paint circles inside white pencil marks:

4. Print out words:
(I used Janda Quirkygirl font in 110 and 80 point.)

5. Line up words on painted board and trace letters with ballpoint pen:
The pressure of the pen will leave an indent in the wood.

6. Paint on and inside the indent left behind by the pen:
(I used dark brown acrylic.)

7. Drill holes for ribbon:

8. Seal with clear semi-gloss acrylic spray.
Thread ribbon through holes, tie knot and apply fray-chek to cut ends:

Ready for the nursery.
