"S" is for Sideboard

I built a sideboard for Mr. & Mrs. B.

Thanks again to Ana White and her fabulous plans.  I combined the plans from here and here to make this custom sideboard. (This one measures 42"l x 13"w x 30"h.)

The space was previously occupied by a desk which was too deep, compromising the space for the dining chair and not functional as a desk in the space.

Mr. & Mrs. B wanted a sideboard deep enough to hold platters and baskets and have two drawers for storage.

Their all white kitchen provided an easy answer to the finish choice: white semi gloss.

Here's the basic structure complete:

Finished with one coat primer, two coats white semi gloss.

The drawers are simple boxes with pulls easy to slide in and out.

For safety and to avoid the entire drawer sliding out onto someones foot, I added safety cabinet clips to the back edge:

To get the drawer completely out you must depress the clip.  And that way this little guy below won't be able to pull the drawer all the way out:

A good experience with customizing and now Mr. & Mrs. B (and little B) have a furniture piece that works for their space.
