"L" is for Labels

Make your own fabric labels.

I made them to sew into pouches.

Here I pulled the lining out for a better picture:

Here's how to make the labels:
1. Purchase cotton paper-backed sheets for ink jet printing:

Jacquard Inkjet Cotton package

I found mine at Michaels.
2. Set up a word document with the labels you want to print.  My label is folded in half so in order to be legible from both sides I modified my logo to print right side up and upside down:
3. Run a test print on regular paper first, then print on the cotton sheet:

4. Set with hot iron.
5. Cut to size with rotary cutter and ruler:

6. Fold in half and iron again:

7. Dip sides (raw edges) into fray check:

Now your labels are ready!

Line up the pouch lining, insert label and sew into seam:

Perfection.

I pulled up the lining again to see the label better.
(The pink gingham doesn't photograph the best without natural light, sorry.)

Machine washable and hot dryer too!
(I tried it to be certain.)

Now go make your own labels for all those sewing projects.
