"T" is for Teeny

I built a teeny, tiny tower.

A storage tower for the bathroom.

Mainly to hide the extra toilet paper.

I used Ana White's plans here and modified the size to 12"w x 26"h x 10"d.

Some pictures without the baskets:

I made the wire baskets from hardware cloth and rope and made the drop cloth liners to fit.
Check my previous post here for the how-to on wire baskets.  Easier than you think.

This would be a knock off of Pottery Barn's Caleb floor storage:

I'll save the $249 plus shipping and make my own thanks.

More importantly I was able to make the tower fit precisely into the space we have, cost aside that's the beauty of making your own pieces.

I painted it with two coats Behr French Roast paint and primer in one.

"F" is for Fixtures

New fixtures in the upstairs bathroom, a mini makeover.

Yes I know this bathroom could use a total overhaul (50's pink tile we do love you!) but for now new fixtures will have to do.
And what a difference a new toilet and sink can make!

From vanity to pedestal.
(Don't worry about the loss of storage, the hall closet is huge and I'm building a teeny tiny tower.)

Old squat toilet to new 'comfort height' toilet. (Am I still in the same bathroom?)

Nothing fancy, standard Home Depot fixtures and faucet.
(And yes I called the plumber to do the work.)

Someday the pink tile will go but for now we're enjoying a little upgrade and some open space.

View from hall.
